Nune Coepi

Some things happened this spring that completely knocked me off my game. I stopped posting on social media and took a month break from making just to focus on health. My partner and I have begun a healthier diet. He taught me a saying recently that I haven't heard before.

"Nune Coepi" meaning "Now I begin again"

In our move to Canada, we have lost our home and some of our possessions, but our love has grown stronger. He has been my rock, my friend and my support system. We have recently been so fortunate that his daughter, wife and their son have moved to New York to be closer to us. It is the blessing that we both needed.

I am not ready yet to go full force making again. I have used this time to study vertical water training, group aqua fitness and participate in local Aqua Fit classes. Being in the water helps my spirit so much and I feel stronger and relaxed when I do it. My hope is to become certified in water fitness within the next year. I am unsure yet what capacity I want this training to be in, for right now I am still learning and exploring. Therapeutic water training appeals to me and recently at a small show I did in Niagara-on-the-Lake, I met a woman who does sound baths. We chatted about being in the ocean. She was a scuba diver and I had the pleasure of freediving in Mexico, which is one of my most cherished memories of my somewhat adventurous life pre-caregiving.

I started a new collection, which is part auto-biographical and part fiction that my partner and I wrote together. It features a mermaid and a dragon. Right now I am just doing sketches and in the planning stages. If you are interested in the progess of this new work, consider following me on Instagram while I begin again.
